Who are we?
Women in Tech York is a community of like-minded individuals studying, working or interested in technology. Our goal is to run events where we can share our knowledge and interests, as well as encourage and empower one another. Our events are not exclusive to women; we welcome anyone passionate about tech and increasing diversity in the field. Events run on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
We also welcome all students who are interested in learning more about Tech, and career progression in the industry.
This month…
We’re exploring how improv can improve your confidence and networking with a workshop delivered by Martin Huckle.
Martin is a Test Manager but never wanted to be a manager so maybe he’s a Test Lead really and definitely and joyfully a Squad Lead at BJSS looking after over 30 people pastorally.
Still somewhat unsure how his career travelled through Lab technician, IT Consultant, Developer, Business Analyst Scrum Master and almost every flavour of tester he’s absolutely delighted to be where he is now and puts a lot of the blame on discovering clowning, improv and physical theatre a bit over a decade ago.
He now spreads his time between family, clowning and improv and more recently archery.
