Leeds and West Yorkshire’s digital economy is thriving, fuelled by creativity, entrepreneurship and a growing pool of talent. Organisations looking to further drive innovation in the region, can now turn to CGI, one of the world’s largest IT and business consultancy firms, which officially launches its regional hub as part of Leeds Digital Festival 2025.
CGI’s entry into the region follows its acquisition of BJSS, a well-established technology and engineering consultancy, and marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of digital investment and community building in northern England.
To mark this new era, CGI are proud to host an interactive evening discussion, From bystander to upstander: why does DE&I matter—really? as part of Leeds Digital Festival 2025. Taking place at our new Leeds office on 23rd September from 17:30 to 21:00, the event will bring together industry colleagues, alongside CGI clients and partners for an evening of open conversation about diversity, equity and inclusion.
Attendees will hear real stories from leaders and peers, take part in small group discussions, and explore how lived experiences can inspire meaningful change. They will leave with practical ideas to take back to their own organisations, new community connections, and a personal pledge to make inclusion a reality in everyday actions.
This launch reflects the journey from BJSS to CGI. By building on BJSS’s strong foundations and combining them with CGI’s global expertise, clients across the region now benefit from a broader set of services backed by decades of delivery experience. With more than 90,000 members worldwide, including over 8,000 in the UK and over 500 based in Leeds, CGI is a partner with the scale to deliver globally and the proximity to make a lasting local impact.
Growth for us is not just about business. We know that thriving regions depend on thriving communities, which is why our members are already contributing to initiatives that make a difference close to home. We are proud to work with Ahead Partnership and the Leeds Community Foundation to support social mobility, skills development and community wellbeing.
From inspiring pupils through STEM workshops to partnering with local charities on digital literacy, our goal is to ensure that progress is widely shared and lasting. This same spirit of collaboration defines how we work with our clients. As a company of owners, every CGI employee is a Partner, fully invested in the success of the organisations we serve. We don’t simply deliver services; we co-create tailored solutions that generate measurable outcomes and build long-term partnerships and sustainable success.
The launch of CGI in Leeds and West Yorkshire is more than an expansion. It is an opportunity for businesses, partners and communities to benefit from the legacy of BJSS and the reach of CGI.
