The UK MedTech Innovation Assembly ’23 garnered national success in its inaugural year as MedTech and HealthTech experts flocked from across the country to spark collaborative conversations about the future of the industry.
Held at Nexus (University of Leeds) and hosted by Halston Group, The UK MedTech Innovation Assembly ’23 focused on core themes in MedTech and HealthTech innovation by exploring investment, cybersecurity, AI, and the multiple technology facets that come under the MedTech/ HealthTech umbrella.
With nine insightful panels that gave attendees the chance to connect with leaders and innovators from across the UK’s core tech hubs, The UK MedTech Innovation Assembly ’23 discussed how the different regions can come together to create a culture of collaboration in technological advancements and adoption.
When asked about the success of the event, Georgia Halston, Group CEO of Halston Group, said: “We are so happy to announce the success of The MedTech Innovation Assembly ’23 and wanted to say a massive thank you to all of attendees who travelled from all over the country to lead the conversation in MedTech”.
Collaboration was a key focus of the day, with an expert line-up of speakers and engaging workshop sessions that gave attendees the chance to make connections and express their regional insight. Increased knowledge sharing between the North and South regions, more visibility of the wide range of support available for start-ups, and greater links between the MedTech industry and the NHS eco-system, were all primary needs expressed by attendees.
Other panels such as ‘Child HealthTech: The Pinnacle of Preventative Care’ and ‘Uncovering Innovation in the SportsTech Scene’ also explored many nuanced ideas about how MedTech could shape the next generation’s future health. Including how the gamification of health can improve the adoption of new technologies, and how observation within real-life situations is critical to relevant innovations.
“The conversations had by attendees and panellists at The UK MedTech Innovation Assembly ’23 were astonishing.
It’s becoming increasingly clear within the MedTech and HealthTech sectors that there is a vital need for increased knowledge sharing between the core regions, especially those outside of the ‘golden triangle’. The technological innovations coming out of the UK are world-leading… centralised communication that spans the length of the nation will allow us to reduce the segregation between the groups and forge a path towards the future of health.
“That’s ultimately why we created The UK MedTech Innovation Assembly in the first place: to improve the integration within the UK MedTech sphere. In our inaugural year, we have taken a progressive step towards a collaborative future which will only be built upon in the coming years.”
