In the latest episode of our Spotlight Series we caught up with BJSS Chief Engineer, Rich McIntyre.
Since setting up the company in the heart of Leeds almost three decades ago, BJSS has established itself as one of the city region’s biggest software consultancies, now delivering world-class technology solutions from 26 offices internationally – from Houston to Melbourne and Lisbon.
Rich digs into how his early experiences as a software engineer in Japan laid the groundwork for his career in tech, and why “jumping in” is sometimes the best way to figure out what kind of role you’re looking for. He also shares why he thinks Leeds is a great place to be if you’re looking to take that first leap.
“Leeds is phenomenal for technology, we’ve got a lot of big players here – we’ve got Sky, Sky Betting & Gaming, a large amount of banking groups and also startups, and then there’s the likes of NHS Digital and all the amazing tech hubs. All of that has led to an ecosystem that enables us to do business really fluidly.”
